Ashley has had a lifelong love affair with horses that began on a pony ride at a farmer's market at the age of three. From there the love of horses was fostered by the Sarcee Pony Club and Ashley became a well rounded rider, learning the basics in dressage, jumping, and cross country as well as stable management.
After obtaining her C2 level in Pony Club, Ashley decided to focus solely on hunters and show jumpers and became a working student for Rodney Tulloch in Calgary, Alberta, before moving to Belgium and Germany to learn the European method of riding. It was during her time in Europe, while working at Paul Schockemohle stable that Ashley decided to focus on the care of horses rather than competing herself. Since this time Ashley has worked for International Stables such as Paul Schockemohle, Spruce Meadows, Stal Tops and Olympic show jumping riders Manuel Fernando Saro (Spain), Bjorn and Tjark Nagel (Ukraine and Germany), and Kara Chad (Canada). In 2012 Ashley graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in Communications.
When Ashley is not working with horses or thinking about horses she can be found around the path's of Calgary with a coffee in her hand, trying to keep up with her border collie cross "Frankie".
Our Stable Manager, Ron Boisvert, is a 25-year veteran of the Calgary Police force. He and his wife, Marg (also a police veteran), own a farm in Cochrane where they have kept and ridden horses their entire lives. After retiring from the police force, Ron and Marg chose to expand their business and they have been running the OHS (and previously for Overseas Horse Transport) quarantine stables at their farm for over 10 years. During this time, they have transformed their stables into a highly efficient quarantine facility with indoor and outdoor stables. With Ron, clients receive dedicated and experienced care.
Martha Worts, OHS’ Toronto Operations Coordinator, has been involved with horses for as long as she can remember. In 2010 she decided to take a serious step in the direction of her passion and moved to the GTA to pursue an education, and hopefully a career, in the horse business. She quickly found herself right at home as she learned about stewarding horse shows, ground transportation, and various other facets of the horse business. Martha is now the Co-Owner at Equine Business Solutions in Uxbridge whose team manages the office administration for various businesses of the equine variety and coordinates the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association’s annual Championship Show. Martha is also an Equine Canada Steward.
