Overseas Horse Services operates their own transit- and isolation centre where horses can be stabled either to get them ready for export or just to have a rest before continuing their journey. Our facilities are located at 25 minutes of Calgary international airport.
Newly built in 2005, the accommodation was designed in such a way that horses with different health statuses do not come into contact with each other. By meeting the highest hygienic standards, we were able to get the facilities approved by our veterinarian authorities for both import and export isolation. Next to the large boxes (3 x 3.5 m), the unique centre is designed to offer maximum comfort and safety to our guests, including concrete floors, washrooms, paddocks and arena. Our stable manager, who has an enormous experience and skill with almost any type of sport horse, supervises the facilities and makes sure that every single guest gets pampered. When exporting from North America to most destinations require a 30 day- pre-export isolation period under Federal Government (USDA or CFIA ) supervision. During this 30 day period, the required blood tests and Health documents are completed. We can arrange this at your own premises or at our facilities near Calgary. Horses entering Canada from most common jurisdictions require an import permit and a 30-day pre-export isolation in the country of origin. A further isolation period is required in Canada. We can make all arrangements for the necessary premise approvals in Both Countries as well as blood work and health certificate preparation.
